The Investment Discount Specialists

Before making any investment you should be aware that the value of investments can fall as well as rise and you should seek expert advice before investing if you are not sure in any way about an investment you are considering making. As Seymour Sinclair Investments work on an Execution Only basis, we are unable to provide you with this service.

How to obtain better value when you make an investment

When you make an  investment, there is usually a cost involved in doing so. It may take the form of an initial charge, sometimes called a ‘bid/offer spread’; alternatively, or additionally, there could be an annual fee; in some instances, for example in the case of guaranteed income or growth bonds or high income bonds, the charges are ‘built-in’ to the terms offered.
No matter how the costs are deducted, they include a commission payable to the firm who arranges the investment on your behalf. The amount involved varies from investment to investment, but an initial commission of between 3% and 5% may be payable to a financial adviser or agent if their details are included on the application.

Why it is not better to invest direct

If no financial adviser or agent details are supplied, no commission is paid. So, it would be logical to assume that you would benefit by investing direct with your chosen company. This is not the case... The commission that would have been paid is retained by the product provider and you receive no advantage whatsoever by investing direct. The cost to you is the same, regardless of whether there is an adviser/agent involved or not - unless that agent is Seymour Sinclair Investments.

Why it is better to invest through Seymour Sinclair Investments

There is a considerable financial advantage if you place your investment through Seymour Sinclair Investments. It’s called our cash-back or investment discount bonus. We will rebate or reinvest all or significant proportion of the initial commission that is payable on investments. For example, with many investments this equates to 100% of the initial commission payable, or up to 4% of the amount you invest. This bonus is in addition to any discount the investment company may be offering. Therefore, in some cases, the total discount can be as much as 5.5%. This all means that by investing through Seymour Sinclair Investments, you can make your purchase at a much reduced, or no initial charge.

We can make this offer to you as we work on an ‘execution only’ basis and do not provide any financial advice - we leave the choice of which investment and company entirely up to the investor.

We do not charge you any fees for our services as we are paid from the normal annual management charges the fund managers charge. This is not an additional charge and one that is deducted whether you invest via ourselves or direct.
Our offer applies to both regular savings and lump sums.

We hold brochures for most companies’ products and would be delighted to supply you with details and applications from the company of your choice. Should you hear of or see any investment advertised that you would like details of, we would be delighted to obtain these for you.

If you wish to use our services please see the ‘How to make an investment’ page. I hope that you will make full use of our services, now or at any time in the future.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE VALUE OF YOUR INVESTMENTS CAN FALL AS WELL AS RISE AND THAT YOU SHOULD NOT MAKE AN INVESTMENT IF YOU ARE UNSURE IN ANY WAY ABOUT THE INVESTMENT YOU ARE MAKING AND THAT YOU SHOULD SEEK EXPERT ADVICE.
